Baltimore + DC Restaurants Sourcing Local

We’re so grateful to work with some amazing Chefs in our region to provide seasonal produce for their menus. We recently visited a few of our partner restaurants to showcase their seasonal dishes and hear more about why they love sourcing locally!

P.S. – Did you know that we have a map of all the restaurants across our region who are sourcing their ingredients from our farm on our website? Check out the link below to find a Moon Valley Farm-to-table restaurant near you!

Chef Spike Gjerde of Woodberry Kitchen was the first chef to buy produce from Moon Valley Farm – almost 15 years ago in our early days. All these years later, Spike, Steven, and the The Ecco Project team are still showing up for our farm. Just like our farm, they’ve grown too, with Woodberry Kitchen, La Jetée, Bar Dalí, the newly opened Cafe Terracotta, and other ventures all rooted in a commitment to local food.

The Ecco Project team recently came to tour our farm (check out the video here!) and we loved showing them around the place we grow produce for their restaurants. It brings us so much joy to see chefs and farmers working together to feed our community good food. Ecco Project’s restaurants show just how delicious and community-building supporting local farms can be, and we’re incredibly grateful for our partnership!

Iron Gate

Iron Gate, the oldest restaurant in DC, walks the walk when it comes to supporting local farms and creating incredible dishes with the best ingredients. They are a Mid-Atlantic restaurant that focuses on South Italian and Greek cuisine. We were honored to provide produce for one of their delicious summer dishes, the Stone Fruit and Burrata (pictured above!). Check out our recent video to hear Chef James Robinson discuss this dish and why they value sourcing from local farmers.

Late summer is a great time to get out and support your local restaurants who emphasize seasonal, organic, and local ingredients. Next time you’re looking to dine out in Baltimore or DC, check out one of these local spots!
