Cherum
Details
Cherum hybrid fruits, also known as cherry plums or plu-cherries, offer a balanced taste of sweet and tart, blending the characteristics of both cherries and plums. They are generally juicy and firm, with a flavor profile that often leans towards plum, but with a noticeable cherry essence.
Months in season
For our region, Cherums are available late Summer / early Fall. They are rare to find as they aren't as well known as their parents (cherries and plums).
How to store
Treat them like most stone fruit, where you leave unripe (hard) ones out at room temperature until they start to soften then refrigerate and eat within a few days for best flavor. They are definitely more tart under ripe and very sweet at full ripeness. We personally like them right in the middle!
