2024 CSA Sign-Up FAQ
This is a FAQ for our very LIMITED TIME OPTION (offered from Nov 25 - Dec 6, 2023) to pay in full for your veggie subscription for the 2024 season. Our traditional default CSA subscriptions are only available as a pay-by-the week option. We are offering a 5% discount for paying in full for 2024 available between Nov 25 - Dec 6, 2023 only.
Q. Why pay in advance?
A. There's a few key reasons: 1- we get a discount on our supplies if we buy them in advance (which we try to do for the entire season ahead of it!), so we love doing that but need the cash!, 2- our farm pays for nearly *everything* in ADVANCE of the harvest, from seeds to potting soil to fertilizers, and yes even LABOR, so we need money up front to get started with our season. Additionally, it really helps with our crop planning if we know how many people we're growing for! Even if you can't pay in full early, signing up early really helps us to grow JUST the right amounts of veggies and decrease our food waste!
Q. What is the incentive for paying in full?
A. You will receive a 5% discount on your total 2024 veggie share cost.
Q. How is the total cost calculated?
A. We know our customers need to put holds on their boxes throughout the year for vacations or when they’re out of town. We calculated the total costs ASSUMING you’ll put your box on hold for a certain number of weeks throughout the season. If you don’t use your two (or one) built-in holds, then you will be charged for those boxes at the end of the season.
Perennial boxes: 46 out of 50 weeks (assuming 4 holds per year)
Perennial biweekly boxes: 24 out of 26 weeks (assuming 2 holds per season)
Peak boxes: 23 out of 25 weeks (assuming 2 holds per season)
Peak biweekly odds: 11 out of 12 weeks (assuming 1 hold per season)
Peak biweekly evens: 12 out of 13 weeks (assuming 1 hold per season)
Q. Do you offer refunds if I decide to cancel after paying in full?
A. No, we are not able to issue refunds once you have committed to paying in full for your share.
Q. Does the pre-payment price include delivery fee?
A. No, it does not. That delivery charge ($8/week) will come out each week as you get delivery.
Q. Can I change to a different CSA share size throughout the season? What will happen to the price?
A. Yes, you can change CSA share sizes at anytime throughout the season by emailing support@moonvalleyfarm.net! If you pre-pay and change to a larger share size throughout season, the pre-sale funds will run out sooner. The sale is over Dec 6, so remaining balance will be owed once funds run out. We are offering the full payment option ONLY from Nov 25 - Dec 6, 2023. Outside of that, everyone will pay by the week for full price. If you change to smaller share size during season, the additional funds can be used toward other subscriptions and/or e-store purchases.
Q. What if I put my share on hold for more than 2 (or 4) weeks and have extra funds? Are there refunds?
A. We will not be issuing refunds, but these funds CAN be used for additional purchases and expire at the end of 2024.
Q. Can I get a discount on the other subscriptions?
A. No, we unfortunately can’t offer this option for other subscriptions because they are products from our partner farms and we can only control and SAVE on our own operating costs with pre-payments.
