“Moon Valley Farm has been my CSA for over a year and I love them! The consistent quality of the food, excellent communication and the wonderful recipe ideas. As a perennial CSA member, I look forward to each season with anticipation!” -Sarah

What do I get?

A veggie box every week during the season you choose (perennial or peak season!). We give you the best of what is ripe and available the farm and also have a swap option available if you’d like to make trades! We grow the most familiar veggies, including tomatoes, cucumber, potatoes and lettuces, as well as some that we think you’ll love if you don’t already, like kohlrabi, Italian sweet peppers and fennel.

Full diet, one-stop-shopping.

In addition to produce from our farm, we have partnered with a select few area farmers who provide some items that fill your boxes, including Sassafras Creek Farm, 78 Acres and Next Step Produce, whose produce broadens our diversity and strengthen the boxes every week of the year.

“Absolutely love this CSA! My kids (and I) have tried so many new foods— persimmon, kohlrabi, chard, and even old standards are WAY more flavorful (fruit, carrots, tomatoes, ginger, etc). Also the ability to swap, skip, donate or to add on an amazing extras (eggs, tofu, honey) makes this the best! Love also the recipes to help us figure out what to do with some new treat! Highly, highly recommended.” -Charlotte

Access to an incredible online community of home cooks who share recipe ideas, enthusiasm for cooking and preservation tips.

“A wonderfully curated box of fresh veggies and fruits, along with eggs, mushrooms, and bread. I love that you can swap out a few items the week before and appreciate the list of suggested recipes that come along with each box. Definitely the best CSA I have tried! Highly recommend it!” -Virginie

Payments are weekly.

“Love the CSA program they offer, a brilliant year round offering that connects family to food sustainably and with delicious produce at a fair price.” -Chris

“Joining the MVF CSA years ago was one of the best decisions I have ever made! The produce is delicious and healthy, and I have been introduced to numerous "new" veggies (kohlrabi, sunchokes, tatsoi, etc.) as well as yummy recipes for cooking them. I am blown away by the commitment of MVF to the community, and most importantly, to regenerative farming. MVF "checks all of the boxes" with regard to protecting and enhancing human and environmental (soil) health. MVF ROCKS!!!” -Polly

“Can’t say enough good things about Moon Valley Farm! I subscribed for their Peak shares in 2023 and decided to subscribe year round soon after. The people at Moon Valley Farm are so helpful and committed to doing a great job, from the top of the org down to the drivers. After I moved apartments they were so kind and helpful working with me to figure out where my box could be delivered. The produce itself is noticeably different from what you can get in a grocery store. The tomatoes are actually flavorful, the celery is extra green and crunchy, etc. Pricing is incredibly reasonable for what you are getting. They also have a strong online presence and work to build community by sending out updates about what’s going on at the farms and recipes.” -Shira

“My household has been in MVF's CSA since early on in Covid. The produce has reliably been great, and the options for how to make use of the CSA keep getting more extensive, flexible, and user friendly every year. The folks who organize it are quick to respond and supportive whenever I have a question or request. Honestly, being part of it has changed our foodways, very much for the better.” -Bill

We'd love you to be part of our farm-ily.

Step 1: Pick Share Size

We have three share options - which works best for you?

We measure shares by "items" - but each week we do a calculation on the worth of each item to ensure the value adds up each time. An "item" is something like: a pint of cherry tomatoes, a bag of lettuce, 2 onions, a bunch of kale or a quart of potatoes.

Small Share: 4-6 items per week for $29.96

Large Share: 11-14 items per week for $72.48

Medium Share: 7-9 items per week for $44.94

Step 2: Pick Season Length

Peak Season

  • 25 weeks or 6 months long

  • Starts in June, goes through end of November

  • Features the height of spring, all of summer and peak fall produce!

Perennial Season

  • Perpetual share that runs 50 weeks a year, from the first week in Jan through Dec (we take the last 2 weeks in Dec off).

  • No need to remember to sign up again - this share will roll over to next year.

  • Winter shares feature lots of nutritious storage crops + leafy greens

For weekly payments, no payment is due at time of sign-up.

Your card will be charged weekly on Mondays for that weeks share. To put your share on hold, do so by Thursday at noon the week before your delivery.

Step 3: Pick-Up or Delivery

Pickup Locations

We have pick-up locations throughout DC, Baltimore, NoVA and Frederick areas (click here for the full list!). Pick-ups are Tuesdays through Fridays, and hours range from 2-9pm (some locations close earlier than others). Please note that if you do not make it in time to pick up your share, it is forfeited for the week. There is no added delivery fee if you choose a pick-up location!

Home Delivery

For an added weekly fee of $8, we'll bring your share right to your doorstep! Areas that we deliver to include but are not limited to: Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Northern VA, Frederick, Bethesda, Woodsboro, Phoenix, Cockeysville, Columbia & Catonsville. Zip codes are listed on our sign-up page. Please note that since sometimes zip codes cover a huge radius, we cannot guarantee that if you are in a zip code we deliver to that you are in our delivery zone.

For both options: you can always put your share on hold if you'll be out of town so you don't pay for what you don't get! Holds must be placed 8+ days before delivery date.
